BBL buttock augmentation

Excess skin and fat caused by aging, hereditary factors or after significant weight loss in the buttock area can be improved with a buttock lift. Not to be confused with the "Brazilian butt lift-BBL", which increases volume using fat transfer, a butt lift, also known as gluteoplasty, involves only the removal of skin and fat tissue through surgical excision. Of course, it can be combined with fat grafting for buttock augmentation in one operation. This gives the patient a better aesthetic result if such additional surgery is justified.

• •If there is loose, sagging skin and excess fat on the buttocks
• •If you have recently lost a lot of weight and are close to your ideal weight
• •If the buttock area makes the patient feel self-conscious
• •If excess fat or skin causes discomfort or problems with movement

Depending on the quality of your skin, the amount of excess to be removed, and your body shape, your surgeon will determine what your options are:

• •If there is a large amount of skin to be removed, a lower body lift may be considered, which would help remove skin around other areas of the body, including the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and hips.
• •If skin removal results in a loss of volume in the buttocks, buttock augmentation may be appropriate after a buttock lift (graft with your own fat tissue).
