Gynecomastia surgery

Plastic surgery to correct gynecomastia is technically called reduction mammoplasty. It reduces and flattens the bust and enhances the contour of the chest.

Gynecomastia (man breasts) should not be seen as something abnormal as it is common in most men.

There are two treatment methods:

• •Liposuction (lipomastia)- it is ideal for reducing fat tissue because the fat is soft and easily removed. However, the hard and glandular tissue of gynecomastia cannot be removed by liposuction; requires cutting.
• •Cut:The excision technique is recommended when glandular breast tissue or excess skin is present. Excision is also used to reduce the areola or change the position of the nipple.

Sometimes gynecomastia is treated with a combination of Liposuction and Gland Excision.
